حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى الْحِيرِيُّ ثنا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ قَطَنٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمَّا أُصِيبَ إِخْوَانُكُمْ بِأُحُدٍ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ أَرْوَاحَهُمْ فِي جَوْفِ طَيْرٍ خُضْرٍ تَرِدُ أَنْهَارَ الْجَنَّةِ تَأْكُلُ مِنْ ثِمَارِهَا وَتَأْوِي إِلَى قَنَادِيلَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُعَلَّقَةٍ فِي ظِلِّ الْعَرْشِ فَلَمَّا وَجَدُوا طِيبَ مَأْكَلِهِمْ وَمَشْرَبِهِمْ وَمَقِيلِهِمْ قَالُوا مَنْ يُبَلِّغُ إِخْوَانَنَا أَنَّا أَحْيَاءُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ نُرْزَقُ لِئَلَّا يَزْهَدُوا فِي الْجِهَادِ وَلَا يَنْكُلُوا عَنِ الْحَرْبِ؟ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا أُبَلِّغَهُمْ عَنْكُمْ وَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا} [آل عمران 169]

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, when your brothers were struck down at Uḥud: "Allah placed their souls inside green birds that come to the rivers of Paradise, eat from its fruits, and shelter in golden lamps hanging in the shade of the Throne. When they found the goodness of their food, drink, and resting place, they said, 'Who will inform our brothers that we are alive in Paradise, being provided for, so that they will not lose interest in jihad or shrink from war?' Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said, 'I will inform them on your behalf,' and Allah revealed: 'Do not consider those who were killed in the way of Allah as dead' (Āl ʿImrān 169)."
