✧ I used to sell camels at al-Naqīʿ, selling for dinars and taking dirhams, and selling for dirhams and taking dinars. Something about that fell into my heart, so I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in the house of Ḥafṣah—or he said when he came out of the house of Ḥafṣah—and I said: “O Messenger of Allah, wait a moment so I may ask you. I sell camels at al-Baqīʿ, selling for dinars and taking dirhams, and selling for dirhams and taking dinars.” He said: “There is no harm in taking them at the exchange rate of that day, as long as you do not part while something remains between you.”
