✧ "Indeed this Qur'an is the banquet of Allah, so accept from His banquet as much as you can. Indeed this Qur'an is the rope of Allah, the clear light, and the beneficial healing. It is a protection for the one who clings to it and a salvation for the one who follows it. It does not deviate lest it be corrected, and it does not bend lest it be straightened. Its wonders do not cease, and it does not wear out from much repetition. Recite it, for Allah will reward you for its recitation: for every letter, ten good deeds. Indeed I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter."

machine translationHe was asked about the ḥadīth of Abū al-Aḥwaṣ from ʿAbdullāh, who said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said..." He said: ʿAṭāʾ b. al-Sāʾib narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Junayd raised it (marfūʿ) from him, from Abū ʿĀṣim, from al-Thawrī, from ʿAṭāʾ, while others from al-Thawrī made it a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). Likewise it was narrated by Abū al-Aḥwaṣ, Shuʿbah, Ḥammād b. Zayd, Jarīr, Hishām, Jaʿfar b. Sulaymān, Ibn Fuḍayl and Fiṭr from ʿAṭāʾ. Ḥammād b. Salamah narrated it from ʿAṭāʾ, from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ and Abū al-Bakhtarī, adding Abū al-Bakhtarī in it. ʿĀṣim b. Abī al-Najūd, Ibrāhīm al-Hajarī, Thābit al-Bunānī and Salamah b. Kuhayl narrated it from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ as mawqūf as well, and that is the correct view. It was also narrated from ʿAlqamah b. Marthad, from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ, from ʿAbdullāh, as raised (marfūʿ); ʿAbbād b. Ṣuhayb said it, from Ṣadaqah b. Abī ʿImrān, from ʿAlqamah.
