✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during the Farewell Pilgrimage: "Indeed, the allies of Allah are the ones who pray: whoever establishes the five prayers that have been prescribed for him, fasts Ramadan and seeks reward for his fast, considering it a duty upon him, gives the zakat of his wealth seeking reward for it, and avoids the major sins which Allah has forbidden." Then a man asked him: O Messenger of Allah, what are the major sins? He said: "They are nine: associating partners with Allah; killing a believer without right; fleeing on the day of battle; consuming the property of an orphan; consuming usury; slandering chaste women; disobedience to Muslim parents; and deeming the Sacred House, your qiblah, lawful to violate, for the living and the dead." Then he said: "No man who does not commit these major sins, and establishes the prayer and gives the zakat, dies except that he will be with the Prophet ﷺ in a dwelling whose doors are panels of gold." "They have used the narrators of this hadith as evidence except 'Abd al-Hamid b. Sinan. As for 'Umayr b. Qatadah, he is a companion, and his son 'Ubayd is agreed upon for his transmission and use as evidence." 'Umayr b. Qatadah is a companion, and they did not use 'Abd al-Hamid as evidence. He said: I said: because of his unknown status, but Ibn Hibban deemed him trustworthy.
