✧ As for the story of Samurah b. Jundub

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْبَجَلِيُّ ثنا هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ثنا عَوْفٌ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ وَخِلَاسٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ قَسَمَ مِنْهَا رَحْمَةً بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا فَوَسِعَتْهُمْ إِلَى آجَالِهِمْ وَأَخَّرَ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ لِأَوْلِيَائِهِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ قَابِضٌ تِلْكَ الرَّحْمَةَ الَّتِي قَسَمَهَا بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا إِلَى تِسْعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ فَكَمَّلَهَا مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ لِأَوْلِيَائِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

Translation

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Allah has one hundred mercies. He distributed one mercy among the people of this world, and it suffices them until their appointed times. He withheld ninety-nine for His friends. Allah ﷻ will take back that mercy which He distributed among the people of this world, adding it to the ninety-nine, thus completing one hundred mercies for His friends on the Day of Resurrection."

  • «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إِنَّمَا اتَّفَقَا فِيهِ عَلَى حَدِيثِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ مُخْتَصَرًا ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَكْمَلَ مِنَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ وَلَهُ شَاهِدٌ عَلَى نَسَقِ حَدِيثِ عَوْفٍ» على شرطهما وأخرجا منه
