✧ We were sitting with 'Utbah b. 'Abd al-Sulami when Yazid Dhu Misr al-Maqra'i came. He said to 'Utbah: O Abu al-Walid, we went out just now looking for a sacrificial kid, and we could hardly find anything sound, except that I found a fat animal with broken teeth. 'Utbah said: Why did you not bring it to us? He said: O Allah, forgiveness! Is it valid for you but not valid for me? He said: Yes. He said: Why is that? He said: Because you doubt and I do not doubt. Then 'Utbah stretched out his hand and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade only five: the musilah, the musfarrah, the bakhqa', the mushayya'ah, and the kasra'. He said: The musilah is the one whose horn is completely gone; the musfarrah is the one whose ear is completely gone; the bakhqa' is the one whose blindness is evident; the mushayya'ah is the emaciated or sick one that does not follow the flock; and the kasra' is the one with a broken leg.
