✧ We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as pilgrims, and the mount of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the mount of Abu Bakr were one. We alighted at al-ʿArj, and our mount was with the servant of Abu Bakr. She said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat, and ʿAʾisha sat beside him, and Abu Bakr sat beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the other side, and I sat beside Abu Bakr, waiting for his servant and our mount, until when would he come to us? Then the servant appeared walking, without his camel. He said: Abu Bakr said to him: Where is your camel? He said: I lost it last night. She said: Abu Bakr stood up and beat him, saying: One camel, and you lost it, though you are a man? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did nothing but smile and say: "Look at this man in ihram, what he is doing."
