✧ Bashir, the messenger of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, narrated to me. His name in the pre-Islamic era was Zahm b. Ma'bad, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "What is your name?" He said: "Zahm b. Ma'bad." He said: "You are Bashir." So that became his name. He said: While I was walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "O son of al-Khasasiyyah, what do you resent against Allah? You have come to walk with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." I said: "I do not resent anything against Allah. Every good, the Prophet of Allah did." Then he came upon graves of the polytheists and said: "These have preceded with much good" three times. Then he came upon graves of the Muslims and said: "These have attained much good" three times. While he was walking, he happened to glance, and behold, there was a man walking among the graves wearing two sandals. He said: "O owner of the two sihtiyyah sandals, woe to you! Throw off your two sihtiyyah sandals." The man looked, and when he recognized the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he removed his sandals and threw them away.
