- Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī
machine translationThis ḥadīth is an error. It is only what Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī narrated from Ibn Sīrīn, from Abū al-Rabāb al-Qushayrī, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf).
in المستدرك على الصحيحين, p. 1286 - Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī
machine translationI used to find this ḥadīth strange, so I looked into it and found that it is an error. Ḥammād b. Zayd narrated it from Ayyūb, from Muḥammad b. Sīrīn, from Abū al-Rabāb al-Qushayrī, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, that he said: "The affliction of the believer..." It is his own statement, not raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ).
machine translationThe sound version of this is what Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī and Hishām b. Ḥassān narrated, and it is enough for you that they are both trustworthy, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Abū al-Rabāb, whose name is Muṭarrif b. Mālik al-Qushayrī, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, as his own statement, in a long ḥadīth.
