أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَاكِمُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَافِظُ إِمْلَاءً فِي شَهْرِ رَبِيعٍ الْآخِرِ سَنَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَتِسْعِينَ وَثَلَاثِ مِائَةٍ أَنْبَأَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ رِبْعِيٍّ الْقَيْسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْأَصَمِّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَرَأَيْتَ جَنَّةً عَرْضُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ فَأَيْنَ النَّارُ؟ قَالَ «أَرَأَيْتَ اللَّيْلَ الَّذِي قَدْ أَلْبَسَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَأَيْنَ جَعَلَ النَّهَارَ؟» قَالَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «كَذَلِكَ يَفْعَلُ اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ»

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Muhammad, do you see a paradise whose width is the heavens and the earth—where then is the Fire? He said: "Do you see the night that has covered everything—where then has the day been placed?" The man said: Allah knows best. He said: "Thus Allah does whatever He wills."

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ لَهُ عِلَّةً وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرطهما ولا أعلم له علة
