  1. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1232No grade recorded

    أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ أَنْ يُحَرِّشَ بَيْنَ الْبَهَائِمِ

    It is reported from Mujahid that Ibn 'Umar disliked making animals fight each other.

  2. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1233Sahih

    عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَقِلُّوا الْخُرُوجَ بَعْدَ هُدُوءٍ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ دَوَابَّ يَبُثُّهُنَّ فَمَنْ سَمِعَ نُبَاحَ الْكَلْبِ أَوْ نُهَاقَ حِمَارٍ فَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَ مَا لا تَرَوْنَ

    ✧ On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Go out less after nightfall, for Allah has creatures that He sends out. Whoever hears the barking of a dog or the braying of a donkey, let him seek refuge in Allah from Satan the accursed, for they see what you do not see."

    عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ نُبَاحَ الْكِلاَبِ أَوْ نُهَاقَ الْحَمِيرِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَ مَالاَ تَرَوْنَ وَأَجِيفُوا الأَبْوَابَ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لاَ يَفْتَحُ بَابًا أُجِيفَ وَذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ وَغَطُّوا الْجِرَارَ وَأَوْكِئُوا الْقِرَبَ وَأَكْفِئُوا الآنِيَةَ

    ✧ On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "When you hear the barking of dogs or the braying of donkeys at night, seek refuge in Allah, for they see what you do not see. Close the doors and mention the name of Allah over them, for Satan does not open a door that has been closed and over which the name of Allah has been mentioned. Cover the water jugs, tie the water-skins, and turn over the vessels."

  4. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1235Sahih

    عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ ابْنُ الْهَادِ وَحَدَّثَنِي شُرَحْبِيلُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَقِلُّوا الْخُرُوجَ بَعْدَ هُدُوءٍ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ خَلْقًا يَبُثُّهُمْ فَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ نُبَاحَ الْكِلاَبِ أَوْ نُهَاقَ الْحَمِيرِ فَاسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ

    ✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, Ibn al-Hād said: And Shurayḥbīl narrated to me from Jābir that he heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, “Reduce going out after nightfall's stillness, for God has creatures He disperses. When you hear the barking of dogs or the braying of donkeys, seek refuge in God from Satan.”

  5. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1236Sahih

    عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ صِيَاحَ الدِّيَكَةِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّهَا رَأَتْ مَلَكًا فَسَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ نُهَاقَ الْحَمِيرِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّهَا رَأَتْ شَيْطَانًا فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ

    ✧ From the Messenger of God ﷺ that he said, “When you hear the crowing of roosters in the night, they have seen an angel, so ask God of His bounty. When you hear the braying of donkeys in the night, they have seen a devil, so seek refuge in God from Satan.”

  6. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1237Weak

    أَنَّ رَجُلاً لَعَنَ بُرْغُوثًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لاَ تَلْعَنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ أَيْقَظَ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الأنْبِيَاءِ لِلصَّلاةِ

    Anas ibn Malik reported that a man cursed fleas in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not curse them. A flea woke up one of the Prophets for the prayer."
