حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَالِكٍ النُّكْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَوْزَاءِ أَوْسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ
قُحِطَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ قَحْطًا شَدِيدًا فَشَكَوْا إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ انْظُرُوا قَبْرَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَاجْعَلُوا مِنْهُ كِوًى إِلَى السَّمَاءِ حَتَّى لَا يَكُونَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ سَقْفٌ قَالَ فَفَعَلُوا فَمُطِرْنَا مَطَرًا حَتَّى نَبَتَ الْعُشْبُ وَسَمِنَتِ الْإِبِلُ حَتَّى تَفَتَّقَتْ مِنَ الشَّحْمِ فَسُمِّيَ عَامَ الْفَتْقِ

✧ The people of Madinah suffered a severe drought and complained to 'A'ishah. She said: Look at the grave of the Prophet ﷺ and make an opening from it to the sky so that there is no roof between it and the sky. He said: They did so, and we were rained upon until grass grew and camels became fat until they split from fat. It was called the year of splitting.
