✧ Some men from Banu Mudlij came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are people of this sea, fishing on rafts, so we stay out on it for a night, two nights, three, and four, and we carry fresh water with us for our lips. If we perform ablution with it, we fear for our lives, but if we prefer ourselves and perform ablution from the sea, we find within ourselves something from that, so we fear it may not be purifying." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perform ablution from it, for its water is pure and its dead is lawful."
