«بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَتَبَخْتَرُ فِي بُرْدَيْنِ خَسَفَ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ» فَقَالَ لَهُ فَتًى قَدْ سَمَّاهُ وَهُوَ فِي حُلَّةٍ لَهُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَهَكَذَا كَانَ يَمْشِي ذَلِكَ الْفَتَى الَّذِي خُسِفَ بِهِ؟ ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ فَعَثَرَ عَثْرَةً كَادَ يَتَكَسَّرُ مِنْهَا فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ لِلْمَنْخَرَيْنِ وَلِلْفَمِ {إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ}

✧ "While a man was strutting in two garments, Allah caused the earth to swallow him, and he will continue to sink in it until the Day of Resurrection." A young man, whom he named, who was wearing a fine garment, said to him, "O Abu Hurayrah, is this how that young man who was swallowed by the earth used to walk?" Then he struck with his hand and stumbled a stumble that nearly broke him. Abu Hurayrah said, "For the nostrils and the mouth: {Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers}"
