أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ سَلَّامِ بْنِ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَهْوَاءِ قَالَ لِأَيُّوبَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ كَلِمَةٍ؟ قَالَ «فَوَلَّى وَهُوَ يُشِيرُ بِأُصْبُعِهِ وَلَا نِصْفَ كَلِمَةٍ» وَأَشَارَ لَنَا سَعِيدٌ بِخِنْصِرِهِ الْيُمْنَى
Translation

✧ A man from the people of desires said to Ayyūb, 'O Abū Bakr, may I ask you about a word?' He said, 'He turned away while gesturing with his finger, and not even half a word.' Saʿīd gestured to us with his right little finger.
