✧ What the Prophet ﷺ honored more than the pulpit of Hunayn

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ
كَانَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَتَحَوَّلَ إِلَيْهِ حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ فَاحْتَضَنَهُ فَسَكَنَ وَقَالَ «لَوْ لَمْ أَحْتَضِنْهُ لَحَنَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ»

✧ He used to deliver sermons by a trunk before he took the pulpit. When he took the pulpit and moved to it, the trunk yearned, so he embraced it and it became still. He said, 'If I had not embraced it, it would have kept yearning until the Day of Resurrection.'
