✧ “Whoever Allah gave the Qur’an, and he stood with it in the hours of the night and the hours of the day, and acted according to what is in it, and died upon obedience, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection with the safarah and the aḥkām.” Saʿīd said: “Al-safarah are the angels, and al-aḥkām are the prophets.” He said: “And whoever was eager for it while it slips away from him, and he does not abandon it, he will be given its reward twice. And whoever was eager for it while it slips away from him, and died upon obedience, he is among their nobles, and they were preferred over people as vultures were preferred over the rest of the birds, and as a green meadow was preferred over the surrounding tracts of land. When it is the Day of Resurrection, it will be said: ‘Where are those who used to recite My Book and were not distracted by following livestock?’ Then he will be given eternal life and bliss. And if his parents died upon obedience, a crown of kingship will be placed upon their heads, and they will say: ‘Our Lord, did our deeds reach this?’ He will say: ‘Yes, indeed your son used to recite My Book.’”
