✧ I entered the mosque and found people engaging in talk. I went to Ali and said, "Do you not see that people are engaging in talk in the mosque?" He said, "Have they done that?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'There will be trials.' I said, 'What is the way out of them?' He said, 'The Book of Allah, the Book of Allah. In it is the news of those before you, and the report of those after you, and the judgment of what is between you. It is the decisive criterion, not a jest. It is that which if any tyrant abandons it, Allah will break him, and whoever seeks guidance in other than it, Allah will lead him astray. It is the firm rope of Allah, and it is the wise reminder, and it is the straight path. It is that by which desires do not deviate, and tongues do not become confused, and scholars never have enough of it, and it does not become worn out by much repetition, and its wonders do not cease. It is that which the jinn did not finish hearing before they said, "Indeed we have heard a wonderful Quran" [Quran 72:1]. It is that by which whoever speaks it speaks truth, and whoever judges by it is just, and whoever acts upon it is rewarded, and whoever calls to it is guided to a straight path. Take it, O one-eyed.'"
