حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَشْعَثُ عَنْ جَهْمِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ أُخْتَيْنِ اشْتَرَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا أَبَاهَا فَأَعْتَقَتْهُ ثُمَّ مَاتَ قَالَ «لَهُمَا الثُّلُثَانِ فَرِيضَتُهُمَا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَمَا بَقِيَ فَلِلْمُعْتِقَةِ دُونَ الْأُخْرَى»

Translation

Chain of narrators

  5. Ibrāhīm

✧ He was asked about two sisters, one of whom purchased her father and then set him free, after which he died. He said, "They receive two-thirds as their fixed share in the Book of Allah, and what remains belongs to the one who freed him, to the exclusion of the other."
