أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ الْكِنَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مَكْحُولٌ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَضْلُ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِي عَلَى أَدْنَاكُمْ» ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ} [فاطر 28] ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ وَأَهْلَ سَمَاوَاتِهِ وَأَرَضِيهِ وَالنُّونَ فِي الْبَحْرِ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يُعَلِّمُونَ النَّاسَ الْخَيْرَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like my superiority over the least of you.” Then he recited this verse: “Only those of His servants who have knowledge fear Allah” [Fatir 28]. Then he said, “Indeed Allah, His angels, the inhabitants of His heavens and His earths, and the whale in the sea send blessings upon those who teach people good.”
