✧ He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to grant him the salt flat called the salt of Ma'rib, and he granted it to him. Then al-Aqra' b. Habis al-Tamimi said, "O Prophet of Allah, I came to the salt spring in the pre-Islamic era, and it is in a land with no water. Whoever comes to it takes from it, and it is like perennial water." So the Prophet ﷺ asked al-Abyad to rescind his grant of the salt flat. I said, "I have rescinded it on the condition that you make it a charity from me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is a charity from you, and it is like perennial water; whoever comes to it takes from it." He said, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted him land and palm trees in the Jawf, the Jawf of Murad, in place of it when he rescinded it from him. Al-Faraj said, "So it remains like that; whoever comes to it takes from it."
