أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْجَذْمِيِّ عَنْ الْجَارُودِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
«ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ لَا تَقْرَبَنَّهَا» قَالَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اللُّقَطَةُ نَجِدُهَا قَالَ «أَنْشِدْهَا وَلَا تَكْتُمْ وَلَا تُغَيِّبْ وَإِنْ جَاءَ رَبُّهَا فَادْفَعْهَا إِلَيْهِ وَإِلَّا فَمَالُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ»

Then a man said, "O Messenger of Allah, lost property that we find?" He said, "Announce it, do not conceal it, and do not hide it. If its owner comes, then hand it over to him; otherwise, it is the property of Allah, which He gives to whomever He wills."
