أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ يَقُولُ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَنْقُلُ مَعَنَا التُّرَابَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ وَقَدْ وَارَى التُّرَابُ بَيَاضَ إِبِطَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ لَوْلَا أَنْتَ مَا اهْتَدَيْنَا وَلَا تَصَدَّقْنَا وَلَا صَلَّيْنَا فَأَنْزِلَنَّ سَكِينَةً عَلَيْنَا وَثَبِّتِ الْأَقْدَامَ إِنْ لَاقَيْنَا إِنَّ الْأُلَى قَدْ بَغَوْا عَلَيْنَا وَإِنْ أَرَادُوا فِتْنَةً أَبَيْنَا» وَيَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was carrying earth with us on the day of the Confederates, and the earth had covered the whiteness of his armpits, while he was saying: "O Allah, had it not been for You, we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed. So send down tranquility upon us and make our feet firm when we meet. The forebears have transgressed against us, and if they desire tribulation, we refuse." And he raised his voice with it.
