Show the chain

What scholars said about it
In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.
machine translationIbn al-Samʿānī rejected it, saying that it is a ḥadīth of ʿUmar only by the word of some reckless people, so it is not permissible to narrate it.
in مسند الدارمي, p. 2315 - Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal
machine translationAḥmad denied that this was established from ʿUmar at all.

machine translationAshʿath b. Sawwār narrated it from al-Ḥakam and Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad. Al-Muḥāribī narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad. Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī narrated it from ʿAmmār b. Ruzayq, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Aswad. This wording that is mentioned in it, namely his statement "and the sunnah of our Prophet", is not preserved (maḥfūẓ), because a group of trustworthy (thiqāt) narrators narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad, that ʿUmar said: "We do not permit in our religion the statement of a woman." They did not say in it "and the sunnah of our Prophet". Likewise Yaḥyā b. Ādam narrated it, and he is a better memorizer than Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī and more reliable (athbat) than him, from ʿAmmār b. Ruzayq, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Aswad, from ʿUmar; he did not say in it "and the sunnah of our Prophet", and that is the correct version.
