أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ عَنْ عَزْرَةَ التَّمِيمِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ
عَلِيٌّ وَا بَرْدَهَا عَلَى الْكَبِدِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالُوا وَمَا ذَلِكَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ؟ قَالَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَ الرَّجُلُ عَمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ
Translation
Chain of narrators

✧ Ali placed it on the liver three times. They asked, "What does that mean, O Prince of the Believers?" He said, "It means that a person should not be asked about something they do not know, and they should say, 'Allah knows best.'"
