✧ When the people became numerous in Madinah, a man would come and people would come, but they could hardly hear the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until they returned from his presence. So the people said to him, “O Messenger of Allah, the people have become numerous, and the one who comes arrives but can hardly hear your words.” He said, “Whatever you wish.” So he sent to a slave boy of a woman of the Anṣār, a carpenter, and to the tamarisk trees of al-Ghābah, and they made for him two or three steps. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would sit on it and deliver sermons on it. When they did that, the wooden trunk by which he used to stand yearned, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood by it and placed his hand on it, and it became still.
