أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ وَدِيعَةَ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ
«مَنِ اغْتَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَتَطَهَّرَ بِمَا اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْ طُهْرٍ ثُمَّ ادَّهَنَ مِنْ دُهْنِهِ أَوْ مَسَّ مِنْ طِيبِ بَيْتِهِ ثُمَّ رَاحَ فَلَمْ يُفَرِّقْ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ وَصَلَّى مَا كُتِبَ لَهُ فَإِذَا خَرَجَ الْإِمَامُ أَنْصَتَ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجُمُعَةِ الْأُخْرَى»

✧ Whoever performs ghusl on Friday, purifies himself as much as he is able, then anoints himself with his oil or touches perfume from his house, then goes out and does not separate between two people, and prays what is decreed for him, and when the imam comes out, listens attentively, he will be forgiven for what is between that Friday and the next.

The reports from Ibn ʿUyaynah differ: al-Ḥumaydī said from him, from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, 'I think from his father'; and Abū ʿUbaydillāh al-Makhzūmī said from Ibn ʿUyaynah, from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Ibn Wadīʿah, and did not say 'from his father'. Ibn Abī Dhiʾb narrated it from al-Maqburī, and the reports from him differ: Ḥammād b. Masʿadah said from Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from ʿAbdullāh b. Wadīʿah, from Salmān al-Fārisī. ʿUthmān b. ʿUmar, ʿAbdullāh b. Nāfiʿ and Shabābah b. Sawwār contradicted him; they narrated it from Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father, from ʿAbdullāh b. Wadīʿah, from Salmān al-Fārisī. Likewise al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. ʿUthmān narrated it from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father. At the end of the hadith al-Ḍaḥḥāk added: al-Maqburī said, 'ʿUmārah b. ʿAmr b. Ḥazm related that while I was with them, and ʿUmārah said: Ibn Wadīʿah was mistaken; I heard it from Salmān, who said it,' and the addition of three days. In my view the hadith is that of Ibn Abī Dhiʾb and al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. ʿUthmān, because the hadith has a preserved origin from Salmān, which the people of Kūfah narrate. Ibn Jurayj erred in his saying 'from al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah and ʿUmārah b. ʿĀmir'; he only meant ʿUmārah b. ʿAmr b. Ḥazm, as al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. ʿUthmān said.
