أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا قَالَ
كَانَ «الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُؤَذِّنُ لِصَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَيَقُومُ لُبَابُ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَيَبْتَدِرُونَ السَّوَارِيَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ» قَالَ وَقَلَّ مَا كَانَ يَلْبَثُ

✧ The mu'adhdhin would call the adhan for the sunset prayer at the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the foremost of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would stand and hurry to the pillars until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out while they were like that. He said: And he would seldom stay long.
