✧ On which side does one turn away from prayer?

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

لَا يَجْعَلْ أَحَدُكُمْ لِلشَّيْطَانِ نَصِيبًا مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ يَرَى أَنَّ حَقًّا عَلَيْهِ أَنْ لَا يَنْصَرِفَ إِلَّا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ لَقَدْ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَثِيرًا يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ»

Translation

✧ None of you should give the devil a share of his prayer, thinking that he is obliged to depart only from his right side. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ often depart from his left side.
