✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, and with him came al-Mughirah b. Shuʿbah, until they found the people had already started the Fajr prayer, and they had put ʿAbd al-Rahman b. ʿAwf forward to lead them. ʿAbd al-Rahman led them in one rakʿah of the Fajr prayer before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and joined the row with the people behind ʿAbd al-Rahman in the second rakʿah. When ʿAbd al-Rahman said the taslim, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and prayed. The people were startled by that and said much tasbih. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he said to the people, “You did well,” or “you did excellently.”
