أَخْبَرَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ
كَانَ يَسْكُتُ سَكْتَتَيْنِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ فَكَتَبُوا إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ قَدْ صَدَقَ سَمُرَةُ
Translation

✧ He used to remain silent twice: when he entered the prayer and when he finished the recitation. ʿImrān b. Ḥuṣayn disapproved of that, so they wrote to Ubayy b. Kaʿb, and he wrote back to them that Samurah had spoken the truth.
