What scholars said about it
In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.
- Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī
machine translationThis is a mistake. It is only al-Zuhrī, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ.
in مسند الدارمي, p. 1251 - Ibn Rajab
machine translationThis wording is not preserved (ghayr maḥfūẓ), and Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Ḥamzah was declared weak (ḍaʿīf) by them. Al-Ḥākim Abū Aḥmad mentioned it in the Kitāb al-Kunā.
in مسند الدارمي, p. 1251 - Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī
machine translationThis is a mistake, that is, the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar, both the text (matn) and the chain (isnād). It is only al-Zuhrī, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ: "Whoever catches a rakʿah of the prayer has caught it." As for the words "of the Friday prayer", they are not in the ḥadīth. So he erred in both.
