✧ Umar b. Abd al-Aziz once delayed the prayer, so Urwa b. al-Zubayr entered upon him and informed him that al-Mughira b. Shuba had once delayed the prayer, and Abu Masud al-Ansari entered upon him and said: "What is this, O Mughira? Do you not know that Jibril descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed; then he prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed; then he prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed; then he prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed; then he prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed," then he said: "With this I have been commanded." He said: "Do you know what you are relating, O Urwa? Or that Jibril established the time of prayer for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: "Thus Bashir b. Abi Masud used to relate from his father." Urwa said: "And Aisha narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Asr while the sun was in her chamber, before it appeared."
