machine translationA ḥadīth narrated by Thābit b. ʿUbayd, from al-Qāsim, from ʿĀʾishah, that the Prophet ﷺ said to her: "Hand me the prayer mat (khumrah)." I said: "I am menstruating." He said: "Your menstruation is not in your hand." It was also narrated by ʿAbdullāh al-Bahī, from ʿĀʾishah, from the Prophet ﷺ, similarly. My father said: The ḥadīth of Thābit, from al-Qāsim, from ʿĀʾishah is dearer to me, because al-Bahī inserts ʿUrwah between himself and ʿĀʾishah, and at times he said "ʿĀʾishah narrated to me." Al-Bahī himself is not to be relied upon for his ḥadīth, and he is inconsistent (muḍṭarib) in ḥadīth.
