✧ The tathwib was in the morning prayer. When the mu'adhdhin said in the adhan of Fajr: 'Hayya 'ala al-falah, hayya 'ala al-falah,' he should say: 'Al-salatu khayrun min al-nawm, al-salatu khayrun min al-nawm.'

machine translationHushaym narrated it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Wahb b. Baqiyyah narrated it from Hushaym, from Yūnus, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Anas: "The tathwīb was practiced in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." But Saʿīd b. Manṣūr, Surayj b. Yūnus and al-Ḥasan b. ʿArafah contradicted him; they narrated it from Hushaym, from Ibn ʿAwn, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Anas: "The tathwīb was practiced," and he did not say "in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Yazīd b. Zurayʿ and Ḥusayn b. Ḥasan also narrated it likewise from Ibn ʿAwn. Abū Usāmah narrated it from Ibn ʿAwn, from Muḥammad, from Anas, who said: "It is from the Sunnah." The mawqūf (halted at the Companion) version is the preserved (maḥfūẓ) one.
