machine translationI asked my father and Abū Zurʿah about a hadith narrated by Ibn al-Mubārak, from ʿAwf and Hishām, from Muḥammad b. Sīrīn, who said: ʿAmr b. Wahb informed us that al-Mughīrah b. Shuʿbah narrated to him from the Prophet ﷺ regarding wiping over the leather socks. My father said: Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī narrated it, in the narration of Ḥammād b. Zayd, from Ayyūb, from Muḥammad, from Abū ʿAbdillāh, from ʿAmr b. Wahb, from al-Mughīrah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Abū Zurʿah said: Some of the companions of Ibn ʿAwn narrated it from Ibn ʿAwn, from Muḥammad, from ʿAmr b. Wahb, from a man, from another, from al-Mughīrah, from the Prophet ﷺ. I said to Abū Zurʿah: Which of the two is correct? He said: ʿAmr, from a man, from another, from al-Mughīrah.
