✧ On the Permissibility of Tayammum for One Who Cannot Find Water for Many Years

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاضِي أَبُو عُمَرَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ نا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا تَيَمَّمَ ضَرَبَ بِيَدَيْهِ ضَرْبَةً فَمَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِيَدَيْهِ ضَرْبَةً أُخْرَى ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِهِمَا يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ وَلَا يَنْفُضُ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التُّرَابِ

✧ When he performed tayammum, he would strike with his two hands once and wipe his face with them, then strike with his two hands another time and wipe his two hands up to the elbows, and he would not shake the dust off his hands.
