- Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī
machine translationIn its chain is Ṣāliḥ b. Muqātil, who is weak (ḍaʿīf). Ibn al-ʿArabī claimed that al-Dāraquṭnī declared it sound (ṣaḥīḥ), but that is not so; rather, he said right after it in the Sunan: "Ṣāliḥ b. Muqātil is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī)." Al-Nawawī mentioned it in the section on weak (ḍaʿīf) hadiths.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 581 - Dāraquṭnī
machine translationṢāliḥ b. Muqātil is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī), his father is not known, and Sulaymān b. Dāwūd is unknown (majhūl).

machine translationThere is weakness (ḍaʿf) in its chain of transmission.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 581 - Dāraquṭnī
machine translationHe narrates from his father; he is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī), meaning Ṣāliḥ b. Muqātil. In his Sunan he stated his weakness only in general terms, saying of the chain of this hadith, "There is weakness in it," without explaining the reason. In the chapter on washing after washing the dead in his Sunan he said: "Ṣāliḥ b. Muqātil b. Ṣāliḥ narrates objectionable reports (manākīr)."

machine translationThey declared him weak. He mentioned it in his Khulāṣah in summary: there is no sound (ṣaḥīḥ) hadith either establishing or negating the nullification of ablution by vomit, blood, or laughing in prayer.
