حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّمِيعِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْبُسْتَانِيُّ نا أَبُو حَفْصٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ نا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يُحَرِّمِ الْخَمْرَ لِاسْمِهَا وَإِنَّمَا حَرَّمَهَا لِعَاقِبَتِهَا وَكُلُّ شَرَابٍ يَكُونُ عَاقِبَتُهُ كَعَاقِبَةِ الْخَمْرِ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ كَتَحْرِيمِ الْخَمْرِ

✧ That he asked A'ishah about nabidh, and she said: O my son, Allah did not forbid khamr because of its name; He forbade it because of its outcome. Every drink whose outcome is like the outcome of khamr is forbidden like the prohibition of khamr.
