  • Badr al-Dīn al-ʿAynī

الحكم للرافع لأنه زاد والراوي قد يفتي بالشيء ثم يرويه مرة أخرى ويجعل الموقوف فتوى فلا يعارض المرفوع

machine translationThe ruling goes to the one who raised it, because he added something. A narrator may give a legal opinion on a matter and then narrate it another time, and the halted (mawqūf) report is made a legal opinion, so it does not contradict the raised (marfūʿ) one.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 418
  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

روي مرفوعا وموقوفا وقال البيهقي الموقوف أولى بالصواب

machine translationIt has been narrated as raised (marfūʿ) and as halted (mawqūf). al-Bayhaqī said: The halted version is closer to being correct.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 418
  • al-Bukhari

    أخطأ من رفعه

machine translationWhoever raised it has erred.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 418
