قُرِئَ عَلَى ابْنِ صَاعِدٍ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ حَدَّثَكُمْ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ نا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ نا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ بِإِسْنَادِهِ نَحْوَهُ وَقَالَ

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَا مَعْشَرَ خُزَاعَةَ قَدْ قَتَلْتُمْ هَذَا الْقَتِيلُ مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ وَأَنَا عَاقِلُهُ فَمَنْ قُتِلَ بَعْدُ فَأَوْلِيَاءُ الْقَتِيلِ بَيْنَ خِيَرَتَيْنِ إِنْ أَحَبُّوا قَتَلُوا وَإِنْ أَحَبُّوا أَخَذُوا الْعَقْلَ

Translation

✧ Then indeed you, O tribe of Khuza'ah, have killed this slain man of Hudhayl, and I am paying his blood money. But whoever is killed henceforth, the heirs of the slain have a choice between two options: if they wish, they may kill; and if they wish, they may take the blood money.
