The Messenger of God ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca: "There are four whom I will not grant safety, whether in the unsanctified land or in the Sanctuary: al-Ḥuwayrith b. Nuqayd, Miqyas, Hilāl b. Khaṭal, and ʿAbdullāh b. Abī Sarḥ." As for al-Ḥuwayrith, ʿAlī killed him. As for Miqyas, a cousin of his killed him [unclear: laḥā]. As for Hilāl b. Khaṭal, al-Zubayr killed him. As for ʿAbdullāh b. Abī Sarḥ, ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān sought safety for him, and he was his foster brother. And [there were] two singing girls who belonged to Miqyas and used to sing satires against the Messenger of God ﷺ; one of them was killed, and the other escaped and became Muslim.
