حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ
أَنَّ مَوَالِيَ لِابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَحْرَمُوا إِذْ مَرَّتْ بِهِمْ ضَبُعٌ فَجَذَفُوهَا بِعِصِيِّهِمْ فَأَصَابُوهَا فَوَقَعَ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَأَتَوْا ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَبْشٌ قَالُوا عَلَى كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَّا كَبْشٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُغَزَّزٌ بِكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا كُلُّكُمْ كَبْشٌ قَالَ اللُّغَوِيُّونَ قَوْلُهُ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُغَزَّزٌ بِكُمْ أَيْ لَمُشَدَّدٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذًا

✧ That the freedmen of Ibn al-Zubayr entered ihram when a hyena passed by them, and they threw their staffs at it and hit it. They felt uneasy about that, so they came to Ibn Umar and mentioned that to him. He said, "You owe a ram." They said, "Each one of us owes a ram?" He said, "Indeed you are being dealt with strictly; all of you together owe one ram." The philologists said: His saying "you are being dealt with strictly" means "it is made hard for you then."
