✧ The Wudu' of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ نا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ نا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ نا أَبُو خَلْدَةَ
قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ رَجُلٌ لَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَاءٌ عِنْدَهُ نَبِيذٌ أَيَغْتَسِلُ بِهِ فِي جَنَابَةٍ قَالَ لَا فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالَ أَنَبْذَتُكُمْ هَذِهِ الْخَبِيثَةُ إِنَّمَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ زَبِيبٌ وَمَاءٌ

✧ He said: I said to Abu al-'Aliyah, 'A man who has no water but has nabidh — may he perform ghusl with it for janabah?' He said, 'No.' Then I mentioned to him the Night of the Jinn, and he said, 'Would I give you this foul thing to drink? That was only raisins and water.'
