حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْفَارِسِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةَ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ سَأَلَتْهُ عَنْ طَوْقٍ لَهَا فِيهِ عِشْرُونَ مِثْقَالًا مِنَ الذَّهَبِ فَقَالَتْ أُزَكِّيهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ كَمْ قَالَ خَمْسَةُ دَرَاهِمَ قَالَتْ أُعْطِيَهَا فُلَانًا ابْنُ أَخٍ لَهَا يَتِيمٌ فِي حِجْرِهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنْ شِئْتِ

✧ The wife of Ibn Mas‘ud asked him about a necklace of hers containing twenty mithqals of gold, and she said: Should I pay zakah on it? He said: Yes. She said: How much? He said: Five dirhams. She said: Should I give it to so-and-so, the son of her brother, an orphan in her care? He said: Yes, if you wish.
