machine translationHis statement suggests that the hadith has a defect (ʿillah) because of which no one accepts it, but that is not the case; rather it is a matter open to examination, for it is a hadith that al-Nasāʾī narrated through Zayd b. al-Ḥubāb, from Muʿāwiyah.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 1263 - Aḥmad ibn Shuʿayb al-Nasāʾī
machine translationThis, as a report from the Messenger of God ﷺ, is an error; it is only the saying of Abū al-Dardāʾ.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 1263 - Aḥmad ibn Shuʿayb al-Nasāʾī
machine translationThis is an error as a report from the Messenger of God ﷺ; rather it is the saying of Abū al-Dardāʾ. And what I saw, and he mentioned it, is from the hadith of Zayd b. al-Ḥubāb: Muʿāwiyah b. Ṣāliḥ narrated to us, from Abū al-Zāhiriyyah, from Kathīr b. Murrah.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 1263 - Dāraquṭnī
machine translationIt is from the saying of Abū al-Dardāʾ, and whoever made it a saying of the Prophet ﷺ to Abū al-Dardāʾ has erred (wahima).
