حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ
أَنَّ يَدَ السَّارِقِ لَمْ تُقْطَعْ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلاَّ فِي ثَمَنِ مِجَنٍّ حَجَفَةٍ أَوْ تُرْسٍ

The hand of a thief was not cut off during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ except for stealing something equal to a shield in value. A similar hadith is narrated from ʿAisha through another chain.
