Rifaah al-Qurazi divorced his wife and made her divorce final. After him, Abd al-Rahman b. al-Zabir married her. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, she had been married to Rifaah, and he divorced her for the last of three divorces. After him, Abd al-Rahman b. al-Zabir married her. By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, all he has is like this fringe,” referring to a fringe she had taken from her outer garment. She said: Abu Bakr was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, while Khalid b. Said b. al-As was sitting at the door of the chamber waiting to be admitted. Khalid began calling out to Abu Bakr, “O Abu Bakr, will you not restrain this woman from what she is saying aloud in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did no more than smile. He then said, “Perhaps you want to return to Rifaah? No, not until you taste his sweetness and he tastes yours.”
