حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِلْوَزَغِ فُوَيْسِقٌ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِهِ
Translation

Messenger of Allah ﷺ called the salamander a bad animal, but I did not hear him ordering it to be killed."

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ: إِنَّمَا أَرَدْنَا بِهَذَا أَنَّ مِنًى مِنْ الْحَرَمِ، وَأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَرَوْا بِقَتْلِ الْحَيَّةِ بَأْسًا
machine translationAbū ʿAbdullāh said: By this we only meant that Minā is part of the Sanctuary (al-Ḥaram), and that they saw no harm in killing the snake.
