Sahih al-Bukhari 1203

Clapping [during the Salat] is permissible only for the women

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh
  2. Sufyān
  3. al-Zuhrī
  4. Abū Salamah
  5. Abū Hurayrah
  6. al-Nabī ﷺ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The saying 'Sub Han Allah' is for men and clapping is for women." (If something happens in the prayer, the men can invite the attention of the Imam by saying "Sub Han Allah". And women, by clapping their hands).
